Knit Year's resolution 2016 pt 1

I actually did the first bunch of these just before Yule 2015, so i suppose they technically fon't count.  But they're lovely, and i can see me doing this pattern a lot.  great was to use up smal bits of yarn.  I also have a few earrings who's mates have been lost that could make great charms for these!

This is one of two crochet bracelet kits I have gotten in magazines.  They're great, little satisfying projects!  This kit came fromthe first issue I ever bought of Mollie Makes.  It's a lovely magazine with lots of craft projects (not just knit and crochet) but also nice artices about designers and trends too.

The original pattern doesn't call for a tassle, but i hust couldn't resist.  This would be great for an tribal style belly dance outfit, or any bo-ho look.  Depending on what you can find for colours and charms, this idea could really go with just about anything.  And once you get the hang of it, you can whip them up in well under 30 minutes!

2015 and 2016 Knit Year's Resolutions

Well it's been a long, long time since I've updated this blog. 2015 really got away from me!

My 2015 Knit Year' Resolution was to do something out of the pattern books my mother and sister gave to me over the last few years.  I did finally finish this lavender inspired sock pattern from Around the World in Knitted Socks.  Made with Regia yarn, and I really love the fit and colour!

I've also been working on a few projects for charity.  The Fleece Artists yarn co has given some of their lovely yarn to local knitters to make welcome gift for the Syrian refugees coming to our area.  I've got 2 skeins, and for the first I used the Gothic Lace pattern from Tin Can Knits.

Last year I didn't manage to complete my resolution (I did 3 of 5 books).  So this year I've devided to go with super-quick projects.  Since I buy quite a lot of knitting magazines I often end up with little kits, small projects to promote the materials or patterns in the magazines.  They've been accumulating in a box for a while now, so my 2016 Knit Year's Resolution will be to do up the kits!
